People say, “You don’t realize what you have until it’s gone.” Going to Haiti this past January changed that phrase for me. To me it should be, “You don’t realize what you have until you see how little others have.” When I went to Haiti, it was nothing like America. I saw people who lived in tents, people that could die because they didn’t have any medicine to get them well, and people that just had nothing. We pretty much want everything. But in Haiti, the smallest little thing like a lollipop or even seeing your picture off a camera could make a person happy. This trip changed me. Even though I’m only thirteen, I felt like I made a big difference.
