Tammy’s testimonial – November team
The Gift of Perspective Would you believe that prior to this year I had never been on a mission trip, but now I have been to Haiti four times? Would you believe that I, someone rarely short of words, find it extremely hard to write this testimonial? It’s mainly because I’ve already told you so much about Haiti and I don’t want to tell you about Haiti anymore… I want you to come with me. I want you to experience it. Though a place devoid of nearly all of the comforts, securities

Dr. Leo’s testimonial – November team
Another trip to Haiti, another whirlwind of emotions and feelings that are difficult to describe and put in words. We were 14. We came from different backgrounds, nationalities, and religions. Yet we also came together as one, bound by a mission to help those in Haiti. The People of Haiti live in an impoverished country, under miserable conditions that are unimaginable by those of us who are fortunate to have been born in the U.S. Upon arriving at Toussaint Louverture International Airport in Port au Prince, one quickly realizes that things here are

Dr. Lonnie Klein’s Testimonial – November team
Two of the most fulfilling experiences of my life were my medical mission trips to Haiti. The November mission trip was my second one this year. I could not wait to travel back to reunite with the many friends I had made on my first visit in April. I was especially excited the see how the children at the orphanage had grown and flourished. I wanted to once again make a difference in the lives and health of the Haitian Community. We had an amazing team that ran three busy clinics

Betty’s Testimonial – November team
As I reflect about the mission there are several things that keep coming to my mind. I am amazed that people are still dying of anemia in the 21st century, when we have the means to correct this, although the Haitian people do no have access to the medication. The women look a lot older than the age they tell you and the children are more mature than their age. They have to grow up fast and take care of their younger siblings. I was also amazed how stoic these people are. They really don't

Kristopher’s Testimonial – November Team
“Haiti? You want to go to Haiti?? What do you know about Haiti? Let me tell you know what I know about Haiti: Haiti is cursed. It is by far the poorest country in the entire western hemisphere. Google ‘The most dangerous countries in the world’ and Haiti will be in the top 10 of every list. They haven’t had a stable government in decades. Wyclef Jean is running for President. Yes, THAT Wyclef! There’s a cholera epidemic killing thousands of people, not to mention malaria, typhoid, and AIDS. The

Christine’s Testimonial – November Team
November, 2011 was my second trip to Haiti. I was so excited to return, to see how the children at the orphanage where had grown and to be able to provide medical care to as many people as the team possibly could. During my first trip to Haiti this past April, it was like culture shock…to see the mass amount of people living in such deplorable conditions, just hours away from our posh homes and schools. This trip, I was prepared for the sites, the smells and the extreme poverty

Dr. Mike Szostak Testimonial – November Team
This was my 2nd trip to Haiti but it was just as impactful in my life as the first time I went 14 months ago. The difference this time was that I was able to share the experience with my 14 year old son, Christian. I have been asked why I would go to another country to help people when there are so many needy people in our own country. We are all people with the same basic needs and desires. We are commanded by God to serve one another…to treat

Christian’s Testimonial -November Team
This was my 1st missions trip ever. Haiti is such a beautiful place. However, it is sad that it is marred by trash and it has a lot of poverty. At the orphanage it seemed like a decent place, but then when I got out, I found how really bad the conditions are. People were living in tents and makeshift houses made of scrap material. On Saturday, a baby with a terrible lung disease came into the clinic. When I heard about this, I realized that about half the patients were

Kristen’s Testimonial – November Team
I am a true believer in the phrase “things happen for a reason”. That phrase holds the key that God will unlock if you just let Him. I was in the driver’s seat for so long that I decided to hand the wheel over to God and see what path I should be on. That path started when my eyes fell upon a Facebook post Thanksgiving week of 2010. My child-hood best friend of thirty-four years was going on a mission trip to Haiti. Knowing that this was something I

Dr. Robert’s Testimonial (November Team)
I look up and a little 7 year old girl is, literally, running and screaming out of one our clinics. I look at Dr. Mike bewildered. "she had a cut on her finger and when she asked my interpreter if I was going to cut it off, trying to be funny, he said 'yes'." The girl was terrified. I went outside the clinic to look for her; up and down the block, she was GONE. About an hour later, I see her again. She makes eye contact with
